#GivingTuesday is all about , setting time aside each week to do something or give something to someone less fortunate than your self. Small random acts of Kindness make the biggest difference and we should all take the time to do a little more "giving" and a little less "taking".
At the Goulburn railway cafe our Suspended Coffee program is the perfect simple way to give something back to someone in need.
Did you know that we make all our baked goods fresh by hand just for you our lovely customers ?
Doing this has many benifits!
Making everything ourselves is great for everyone.
So next time your in why now try one of our yummy handmade and cooked with love items and let us know what you think.
PS over half of all our baked items are Gluten free ! the boss lady is not supposed to eat gluten at all so shes trying really hard to make a good variety of Gluten free items that are yummy for all !
All of the Volunteers and team at the Goulburn railway Cafe wish all of our customers and the wider community a very happy new year !
we will re open on tuesday the 3rd of January serving our yummy food and beverages, we hope you can pop in sometime and say hi.
Embracing Goulburns Railway history
Angels believe that a fantastic opportunity exists to re awaken the Goulburn community’s love of the railways.
The social enterprise “railway Café” would showcase Goulburn’s railway history through pictures and books with the interior being sympathetic to the early 1920’s railways era.
The Café will be staffed with a variety of Work for the Dole participants who would not only service the community through food service in the café but, by sharing the history of the railways and talking about some of the other amazing tourist attractions around our great city.
All staff will be trained to talk about the history of Goulburn and the early railways and how this led to growth of our city, we will seek the support of local and state historians to ensure a true representation of our local railway history is provided.
Our Point of Difference
A Café operating as a not for profit organisation, staffed by a combination of Work for the dole participants and community volunteers who are supervised by paid staff.
Each paid meal served in the café provides a free meal to someone in our community in need via the community kitchen program.
The café will have an aim to purchase all produce and supplies from local business ,supporting our local economy.
Our café space will be inclusive of all community members and catering for but not limited to business people, travellers, tourists and local families.
We will use the café and its location to promote the Goulburn railway history, and use this amazing part of our history to re instil in our modern society the value of hard work and community connectedness.
