In early December 2014 we received the exciting news that Angels for the Forgotten (AFTF) had been selected for inclusion in the Knit4Charities National Collection for January 2015!
Knit4Charities was founded by Pamela Tatt in 2004 as a way to help others through craft. It has grown to be an Australia wide group of knitters, crocheters, sewers and other crafters. Their simple mission is to give warm clothing and comforting items (blankets. toys etc) to needy people and animals. If someone is in need, and they can help, they do it - free of charge!
The Knit4Charities team is creating warm winter woollies such as beanies, scarves, cuddle blankets and youth blankets. These will be a great help for the AFTF 2015 Winter Appeal, as last year, despite our best efforts, we struggled to keep up with the need for these items.
Additionally, the Hervey Bay (QLD) Knit & Natter Group (part of the Knit4Charities network) has kindly offered to create items throughout the year for AFTF! How wonderful!
We are delighted to be recognised and supported by a hand made group such as Knit4Charities. AFTF also believe that handmade items provide love and hope to those in need. Each year we run our Annual Craft Challenge with this in mind.
