Last week at the Goulburn Branch of Angels for the Forgotten, we were presented with a delivery of 2 large cartons of tampons from the local Goulburn Branch of Soroptimist International. Soroptimist International is a global movement of women. The theme "Soroptimists - Educate to Lead" with a focus on Education, Enable and Empower provides opportunities for members to improve the lives of women and girls world wide. You can read more about their work here.
This morning in Goulburn we had some help from wonderful volunteers to fill the many handmade feminine hygiene purses that had been sent in my our amazing Facebook Craft Challenge supporters. this group works tirelessly to ensure that we can continue with our core group of services throughout the year.
These full feminine hygiene purses will be distributed to women in need.
Thank you to Goulburn Soroptomist International
Handmade feminine hygiene purses, beanies and fingerless gloves were a big part of today's packing day!
112 Winter Woollies packs were made today!!
Today's volunteers included 40 wonderful year 12 students and staff from Santa Sabina College at Strathfield. They gave us four hours of their valuable time. They all worked very hard and by the end of the four hours we had packed:-
391 Easter packs for kids
144 snack packs for the homeless
300 Easter packs for adults
53 muesli bar packs
64 tea and coffee packs for the homeless
60 school lunch packs
and 112 winter woollies packs for the needy.
The students did themselves proud, they were great ambassadors for their school and we were very grateful for their support. Thank you to the teachers for your help as well!
Thank you Santa Sabina College!
Thank you to all of our crafty angels that support us by donating handmade items to AFTF throughout the year!
Shiver me timbers!
If X marks the spot of the pirate treasure, Angels for the Forgotten Goulburn must be the spot on the map!
Our dedicated SEQLD volunteer Stacey has clearly been marooned on a deserted island with nothing but fabric and a sewing machine busily crafting thoughtful items for kids in care. This time her bounty was a treasure chest (ok..so it was a post bag) full of scurvy (...yet completely adorable) doubloons (ok..there are no doubloons) mini pirate treasures! Arrrgh! They be lovely!
PS Why are pirates called Pirates? They just arrrgh!
Thanks be to ye lass!
Another beautiful mixed parcel from one of our lovely supporters Jayne! Please take some time to admire her handiwork!
They are awesome Jayne :) Thank you!
This beautiful donation consists of 3 Crisis Care bags, 3 toiletry bags, 2 packets of toothbrushes, 2 packets of hair bands, 9 feminine hygiene purses and 3 very pretty journal covers with journals! The donation has been sent to us from Margaret and it is her first donation for Angels for the Forgotten.

Just look at this fabulous idea for a Christmas bag!
Plain, simple and easy to make but the wow factor is there for sure. I just had to share, thanks for the Santa Sack inspiration Louise!
Thanks Melanie, they are awesome!
Leah went to the trouble of making not one, or two crocheted feminine hygiene purses, she made 54! A huge effort that is much appreciated. We are loving the bright colours and the little buttons on the front.
These are perfect for use in our female toiletry bags.
Thank you Leah
they are just perfect!
